Google Ads Opportunity Analysis Tool

Google Ads Impression Share Opportunity Analyzer

Turn campaign-level Search impression-share metrics into a practical review queue. Separate budget constraints from Ad Rank constraints, layer in CPA or ROAS efficiency, and estimate the current eligible-impression gap without pretending lost impression share equals guaranteed conversions.

Upload a campaign-level Google Ads report

Search lost IS (budget) is a campaign-level metric, so use a Campaigns export rather than an ad group or keyword report.

Google Ads → Campaigns → Columns → Competitive metricsInclude Campaign, Impressions, Cost, Conversions, Search impr. share, Search lost IS (budget) and Search lost IS (rank). Add Conversion value when using a Target ROAS benchmark.

What impression share actually tells you

Search impression share is the impressions you received divided by the estimated impressions you were eligible to receive. Lost IS (budget) tells you how often insufficient budget prevented Search visibility; Lost IS (rank) tells you how often Ad Rank prevented visibility.

Budget OpportunityVisibility is being lost because of budget

If campaign economics are healthy, this can justify a budget-capacity review. It does not mean every lost impression should be bought.

Rank OpportunityBudget alone is unlikely to solve the visibility gap

Review Ad Rank drivers such as bid strategy, ad and landing-page quality, relevance and auction competitiveness.

Mixed ConstraintBudget and rank are both restricting visibility

Increasing budget can expose more auctions, but rank limitations may still cap how much of that demand the campaign can capture.

Efficiency OverlayLost share is not automatically an opportunity worth buying

A budget-constrained campaign that already misses CPA or ROAS targets should not receive the same priority as an efficient campaign.

Approximate lost-impression calculation:when Impressions and an unbounded Search IS value are available, PaidMediaKit estimates current eligible impressions as Impressions ÷ Search IS, then allocates the reported budget/rank loss percentages against that eligibility. Rows reported as values such as “<10%” are excluded from the estimate to avoid false precision.
Do not convert lost impression share directly into projected conversions.Eligibility, query mix, Ad Rank, auction prices, click-through rate and conversion efficiency can all change after budget or bidding changes. The estimates in this tool describe the current reported auction opportunity, not a guaranteed forecast.
